Printful's charges on a mug

Printful's White Glossy 11 oz mug is $6.07, and shipping one to a US address is $6.69. In the holiday rush Printful adds 40 cents to every US order. Ours is $19.99 on the store. Sold on Etsy at that price with free shipping it clears about $5, a 24% margin.

Charge for the shipping

Charge the buyer for the shipping and the mug clears about $11 on Etsy and the margin goes to 41%. Etsy's two percentage fees come off the shipping charge too, so not all of the $6.69 reaches you. Stay with free shipping and the price for 30% is $21.83, a dollar or two over what the store charges.

Free shipping takes a bigger bite of a mug

Our hoodie ships for $7.99 on a $22.50 blank, about a quarter of what Printful charges for it, and the hoodie calculator has the rest of its numbers. The mug's shipping is more than half of what Printful charges. On a mug it's the shipping line that moves the margin, not the blank.
