Etsy Fee Calculator

Two of Etsy's three fees take a cut of the shipping you charge, not just the price. Put in both and you'll see what the three come to.

The maroon one. Our stick figure tee comes in five colors on the store, all on the same blank.Maroon t-shirt with a stick figure beside a sign that reads BAD.

Shipping gets charged like the shirt does

List the shirt at $22.99 and charge $4.99 to ship it, and Etsy works its percentages on $27.98, not on the item alone. The example on this page charges for shipping on purpose, so the shipping is in the fees you see. Both percentage fees take their share of the shipping line, and a $5 shipping charge pays the same rates as the shirt.

A listing fee on every sale

The listing fee comes out when you post the listing and again whenever it renews. A listing renews on its own every four months if nobody buys it, and the moment somebody does, so on a shirt that sells once a week you pay it once a week. That's why this page counts it per sale. On a listing that sits for eight months without a sale you've paid it three times for nothing.

The fees next to Printful's bill

On this shirt Etsy's three fees come to a bit over $3 of a $28 order, and Printful wants $12.95 for the blank and $4.69 to ship it. That bill is what sets the price. The fees are a smaller line under it, and they're the line sellers go looking for, because Etsy takes them out of the payment account instead of showing them on the order. Offsite Ads aren't in these numbers, since only an order that came in through one of Etsy's ads pays that fee. The Etsy profit calculator runs the same worksheet and leads with what you keep instead of what Etsy took. Give it this shirt at this price with the shipping charged and it prints the same $7.23.
